On a wedding morning I come to you: home, hotel or venue. For occasions you can come to my studio in Bingham, just outside Nottingham, or I can come to you by quote. Here is what happens when I arrive, and how to make the space work.
Where I travel
- Within twenty miles of central Nottingham (NG1), travel is included for weddings.
- Further afield is charged by distance.
- More than an hour and a half away, I stay overnight so I can arrive early and calm.
- Abroad, for destination weddings, by arrangement.
So whether you are getting ready in West Bridgford, Southwell, Newark or Loughborough, it is the same morning, just a different drive.
What I bring
My kit, my chair, a table for products if I need one, and my ring light, so I can work in the same light whatever the weather does.
What I need from you
- A corner near a window. Natural light is the best light for makeup, and it is the light most of your photos will be taken in.
- A plug socket close by for the light.
- Space for one or two chairs, and a clear surface if there is one.
- Somewhere quiet-ish. Not silent: wedding mornings are loud, and that is half the fun.
If you are getting ready at a venue, ask them for a bright room for the bridal party. Bridal suites look beautiful but are not always the brightest rooms in the building.
Timings
I arrive early, set up a calm corner and start with skin prep. Once I know how many faces need makeup and the time you need to be ready by, I plan the order so everyone is finished together. Above five faces a second artist joins me, so nobody is rushed.
I am makeup only, so I work alongside your hair stylist. Send me their timings and I will fit around them.
Parking and arrival
Tell me where to park and which door to come to. Venues often have a separate entrance for suppliers, and knowing it saves ten minutes of carrying a kit across a car park.
You can see where I work on the map on my home page and how the morning runs on the bridal page. If you are planning a wedding or an occasion, send me the date and the address.
