"I just want to look like me" is the best brief a bride can give me. Natural bridal makeup is how we get there. It just is not the same as no makeup, and it takes as much care as any other look.
Natural is not minimal effort
A wedding day is long. You will be photographed from close up and far away, in daylight and in the evening, and you will be hugged, kissed and cried on. A face with nothing on it can look tired and flat in photographs by mid-afternoon. Natural bridal makeup is built to look effortless, but it is doing a lot of work underneath. Natural, but powerful.
How I build it
- Skin prep with a mini facial and Charlotte Tilbury skincare, so the skin looks hydrated and glowing on its own.
- A thin, even base only where it is needed, so freckles and real skin still show.
- Concealer under the eyes and around the nose, pressed in rather than painted on.
- Brows brushed up and softly filled, which frames the face more than anything else.
- Eyes with soft, matte shades to add depth, and mascara or a few individual lashes.
- Cheeks with a cream blush for the flush you get when you are happy.
- Lips in a shade close to your own, with a balm or gloss if you prefer.
Why natural still needs lashes and setting
Mascara on its own can disappear in photographs. A few individual lashes at the outer corners make your eyes look brighter without anyone noticing lashes at all. And a light setting at the end means your skin still looks like skin at the evening do.
Natural or soft glam?
If you like a little more definition around the eyes, you might be a soft glam bride rather than a natural one. I explain the difference in soft glam bridal makeup. At your trial we can try both sides of the line and see which feels like you.

At your trial
Come with clean skin and photos of makeup you love on other people, especially photos where the bride looks like herself. I write down every product, so your morning look matches the one you approved.
You can see how the trial and the morning work on the bridal page, or send me your date.
